Words of Fear

Words of Fear
By Lord Kristoffer Martin

Sometimes the world is cruel
Filled with regret hatred and fools
Pain rips at our heads and hearts
While words of fear paint our parts.

We wound, we strike, fake the fight
As others run and hide
We’re callous and cold, a faceless plight
As others run and hide

Sometimes the world is cruel
Hidden in dark closets of rule
With beliefs run amuck we feel so stuck
While words of fear paint our luck

We chase, we cry, devils devils alight
As others run and hide
We’re ruinous and retarded, chaffing our rights
As others run and hide.

Sometimes the world is cruel
When mothers cry through the night
For their babies strung up so tight
While words of fear paint our blight

We sneer, we jeer, our faith hung up to dry
As others run and hide
We dream and dare, hoping one day to fly
As others run and hide

Sometimes the world is cruel
Our friends and family disappear
We are alone, only hope to spare
While words of fear paint our sight

We bully, we enslave, the deranged
As others run and hide
We’re blind to the sight of innocents
As others run and hide

Sometimes the world is cruel
When we are to blame
For not changing the game
While words of fear corrupt what’s right.
